• Chest width: measure horizontally from underarm to underarm with the garment laid flat.
• Length: measure from the highest shoulder point down the front to the bottom hem.
• Shoulders: compare the distance between shoulder seams, where the style has them.
• Layers: when choosing a gilet, allow for the garment you plan to wear underneath.

Trousers.

• Waist width: fasten the trousers and measure the waistband flat from side to side.
• Inside leg: measure along the inner seam from the crotch to the bottom of the leg.
• Thigh: compare the width at the same position on a pair that fits you well.
